Leaders of the provincial grid company braved aftershocks to visit and comfort the staff of Hanzhong Electric Power, emphasizing the need to investigate hidden dangers, carry out rectification, and ensure the safety of the power grid and the stability of the staff

At the critical moment of earthquake relief in the Northwest Power Grid, from May 26th to 27th, Ding Yongfu, the chief engineer entrusted by the Party Group of the Northwest Power Grid Company, along with Chen Dongcai, the secretary of the Party Group of Shaanxi Electric Power Company, and others, visited the staff of the Hanzhong Power Supply Bureau who were engaged in earthquake relief and power restoration work. They promptly delivered relief supplies and provided on-site guidance for earthquake resistance and power maintenance.

This is the leader of the provincial grid company who rushed to the disaster area in Hanzhong, Shaanxi Province, after the Wenchuan earthquake in Sichuan Province, where the power grid had achieved a phased victory in restoring power supply. During this period, they experienced the largest aftershock of "magnitude 6.4" on May 25th after the earthquake, and braved the continuous aftershocks.

It is understood that the "5.12" Wenchuan earthquake in Sichuan affected and damaged 25 substations of the Hanzhong power grid, accounting for nearly half of the 49 substations with a voltage of 35 kV or above. Among them, the 220 kV Mianxian substation and the 330 kV Wuhou substation were severely damaged, forcing the Hanzhong power grid dispatch center to relocate to outdoor work. After the earthquake, under the strong leadership of the State Grid Corporation of China, the Northwest Power Grid Corporation quickly established the Northwest Power Grid Earthquake Relief Headquarters. The Shaanxi Provincial Electric Power Company immediately launched the earthquake relief emergency response mechanism, organized the earthquake relief repair and power maintenance work for the Hanzhong power grid. By 16:30 on May 22, all users in the affected areas were powered on, enterprises began to resume production, and people's lives returned to normal. On May 24, the investigation of hidden dangers in the lines and equipment of the Hanzhong power grid was completed. On May 25, the investigation of hidden dangers in the substation buildings and ancillary facilities was also completed, and the hidden danger treatment work entered the final sprint stage.

After inspecting the disaster situation of the Mianxian substation and Wuhou substation, the recovery of transformers in the affected areas, and the on-site dispatching of the Hanzhong power grid in the tents, Ding Yongfu said to the leaders and staff of the Hanzhong Power Supply Bureau: "The Wenchuan earthquake in Sichuan has caused significant damage to the Hanzhong power grid. Shaanxi Electric Power Company took prompt action, organizing the Hanzhong Power Supply Bureau and various units to carry out earthquake relief work. The leaders of the Hanzhong Bureau were effective, and the staff were fearless of difficulties, quickly repairing and achieving phased results. The next step is to continue to do a good job in hidden danger investigation and equipment rectification, strengthen power grid operation, dispatching, and equipment monitoring, ensure grid and personal safety, maintain team stability, and contribute to the economic development of Hanzhong and the normal life of the people.".

Chen Dongcai pointed out that the Hanzhong Bureau faced the crisis bravely and responded swiftly during the earthquake. Under the leadership of the provincial company's Party committee and in accordance with the requirements of the Northwest Power Grid Earthquake Relief Headquarters, they promptly repaired and restored the power grid and equipment, achieving a crucial victory. He expressed his respect and gratitude for everyone's professional dedication and tenacious work style. Currently, aftershocks are still occurring, so we cannot be careless. We must conduct thorough inspections, address hidden dangers, and take strict precautions to secure a comprehensive victory in earthquake relief.

The leaders of Hanzhong Power Supply Bureau stated that they would definitely live up to the care and hopes of the leaders of the provincial grid company, continue to work steadfastly and unite as one to carry out earthquake relief work, ensure the safety of the power grid, and make every effort to provide good power supply.
